Reasons to be Cheerful: Friends with You brings their mesmerizing multicolored endearing inflated figures to New York. “Rainbow City,” sponsored by AOL and timed to inaugurate section 2 of the High Line park, will open early next month on a lot at the far west end of 30th Street. A special bar, The Lot on Tap, will serve a Brooklyn High Line Elevated Wheat concoction made specially for the occasion by Brooklyn Brewery’s brewmaster, while food trucks will serve up lobster rolls, tacos, and more. Meanwhile, the Miami-based duo will have their first solo show in New York, at The Hole. We challenge you to behold their weirdly tranquilizing figures and still be in a bad mood.
